ANN BEAM |
|
 |
Ann Beam’s works combine
images of personal and cultural significance. She has created a
cohesive body of work spanning twenty-five years. Some of her concerns
have been violence against women (East
of the Diamond Lightning),
the exploration and expansion of the Mother archetype (Studies
in the Motherline),
the politics and passion of housebuilding in stabilized adobe (Subdvision
Suite, Earth Builder’s Narrative)
and the synergy of male and female energy (North
American Tantra).
About her work, Ann has said
I use my imagination as a tool to take
me forward. To pull out of spirit a unique synthesis of who I am and
what I can envision. I work in a nonverbal area of image and archetype.
All human progress is the result of imagination.
Ann depicts in her work,
images which serve as a strong reminder of the symbiotic relationship
that exists between all living beings. And they subtly remind us that
for there to be harmony there must also be respect.

A powerful work which
portrays true love and togetherness. Pictured with Carl and Ann Beam.
"The work with the
lions is from a series called North American Tantra. I purposefully
did two works with Carl and myself and the Lions. I have kept the
other work and intentionally released the one you have into the
world."
