This painting reflects the shaman's abilities to shape shift on the astral plane and communicate with the animal kingdom totemic order. Teaching his apprentices the clan system and how to access spiritual information on healing sicknesses in the mind, body, emotions and spirit. The bear clan represents superior knowledge of Earth Mother's plant kingdom and it's healing properties. The two fish inside the bear represent the polarities of male and female energy throughout the universe. The loons throughout the painting reflect the medicine songs we sing to our Creator and creation. To acknowledge this sharing of information with thankfulness and gratitude. The butterflies represent the intelligence of shape shifting and the honor of change. The beaver represents the strength of spiritual structure and the guidance of spiritual principles in one's life. The turtle is the chief of all water clans and dwellers. Teaching the need for respect and healthy action on turtle island (North America). The rabbit clan is necessary medicine as well for this teaches us the importance of gentleness upon our Earth Mother and with each other. The other fish represent purification of self in order to interact with the truth of spirit. The moose represents the strength we have as a community when we live our lives according to the Creator's will for us. The dragonflies represent the vibrational change of spiritual frequencies when receiving wisdom from our Creator and putting that wisdom into action. The fetus represents the healing of the world for the next seven generations to come.

The thunderbird clan (blue spirit bird in center) has received guidance from the Creator and the animal kingdom to inspire and communicate with the human beings in all 4 directions. To share the importance of giving thanks for all that we take and use. To recycle and replant the resources that help us live a day at a time. To respect and live in harmony with the animal kingdom. The turtle at the bottom represents turtle island (North America). The loons inside the shell symbolize harmony. The tree on top of the turtle is the tree of life. The lightning is the root of the tree representing the need for more enlightenment towards how we conduct ourselves on Earth Mother. The fish represent purification of consciousness. The moose represents inner strength to take action with our faith to create a balanced end result.

Eagle medicine is a gift from our Creator. It reflects the vision of the great spirit for the people. The eagle is said to carry our prayers to the Creator. It also represents enlightenment within one's self, searching in the seven directions for wholeness and wellness. It is the highest honor in our culture to receive an eagle feather. It says to our people that the ancestors are happy with us and honor our journey on the red road. The eagle is honored to see how the people respect it's feathers and continue to share the blessings of our ceremonial ways. I say 'Chi Meegwetch' to all nations who honor and respect the blessings of our traditional ways.

The Bear Clan medicine spirit world is the essence of this painting. Bear teacher rests after eating a quantity of fish. He begins to fall asleep under the spell of satisfaction and contentment. Bear starts to dream and sees himself changing form represented by the butterflies. Now astro-travelling, he sits by a council in the spirit world. Wolf Clan is represented teaching the necessity for global unity. Bear is also now communicating with an elder, a grand shaman in the spirit world. This grand shaman with wings represents his duty as wisdom keeper of the seven generations to come. To share vital information with this representitive of the Bear Clan so that when these future generations of medicine people are born, they will have sacred wisdom to help the people in this future time. A place which opens the way for transformation of one's self, bringing wholeness in awareness, understanding, knowledge and wisdom.
